With the Summer season upon us, now is a great time to update your outdoor living space to make it warm and inviting. Here are my tips for doing just that!

The Color

Your outdoor space is an extension of your home. If you have a dominant decorating color in your home’s interior, bring it outside! You can use the color in accessories, fabrics, or the furniture itself.

The Furniture

How will your space be used? Most likely it will be used for dining and lounging. Make sure you have pieces for both.

Don’t be afraid to mix materials! Using varying materials can add a unique twist to your outdoor space.

The Accessories

The use of outdoor pillows is a great way to create an inviting space where guests will want to be! Mix patterns that use your cohesive color and layer varying sizes.

When guests want to take off their shoes, give their feet a soft place to land with an outdoor rug. If your furniture and other accessories are bold, you can opt for a muted rug. If you have more neutral accessories, add a pop of color with your rug.

Don’t forget lighting. You won’t just be using your outdoor space when it’s light outside. Your options aren’t limited overhead lighting. There are several great outdoor lamp options that can really make it feel homey.

Your outdoor space is where many summer days and nights will be spent. So make it warm, make it inviting, and make memories.
